Welcome to the online home of Dylan Days, an organization supporting the arts and honoring Bob Dylan in his hometown of Hibbing, Minnesota. Over the years Dylan Days has built a grassroots tradition including the singer/songwriter contest, writing contest and literary showcase, visual arts competition, Bobby Zimmerman bus tour, live music and more.

HIBBING, Minn. ─ Bob Dylan turns 71 this May and his northeastern Minnesota hometown celebrates with an exciting lineup of Dylan Days arts and entertainment activities from May 24-27, 2012. This is the 11th year of major Dylan Days activities in Hibbing, continuing an informal tradition that began in 1991. All events are within walking distance in downtown Hibbing. Admission and Tickets

Thursday, May 24, 2012 (Day 1)
• 5:00 p.m., Zimmy's on Howard St.
Dylan Days Welcome Reception / Hibbing Chamber of Commerce "Business After Hours."
Friday, May 25, 2012 (Day 2)
• 1:00-4:00 p.m., Hibbing Public Library
Dylan Days Symposium. A series of open discussions and presentations (tba). The Dylan Days B.J. Rolfzen Memorial Writing Contest Literary Event will also be held during the sympoisum, featuring contest winners reading their work.
• 8:30 p.m.-midnight, Zimmy's
The world famous Dylan Days Singer/Songwriter Contest will take place once again at Zimmy's. Competitors from all over the world sing one Dylan song and one original. This is the first division of the contest. The winners receive prizes and joins our hall of fame. SIGN UP TO COMPETE.
Saturday, May 26, 2012 (Day 3)
• 10:30-2:30, pick up/drop off at Zimmy's
Bobby Zimmerman Bus Tour. Our famous and extremely popular interpretive, interactive tour of Hibbing showing the town Dylan knew, his potential influences, along with the town today. Great storytelling and history.
• 2:00-4:00 p.m., Zimmy's
Dylan Days 2011 Postal Cancellation. Each year the United States Postal Service, by way of its Hibbing post office, offers a creative, unique postal cancellation stamp featuring a limited edition Dylan Days image. This stamp is only available on this day and may be used on memorabilia or actual mail.
• 3:00-approx. 6:00 p.m., Zimmy's
Dylan Days Singer/Songwriter Contest. This second division of singer/songwriters will compete for prizes. Competitors from all over the world sing one Dylan song and one original.

Sunday, May 27, 2012 (Day 4)
• 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m., Zimmy's
The Dylan Days Farewell Brunch will be held to let visitors and locals chat with their new friends before everyone goes home. Local Ojibwa blessing to be given.
Additional live music events will be scheduled along with other unique experiences for the visitors who join us from all over the world each year. Most events are free with the purchase of the Dylan Days pin. The benefit concert has a separate ticket cost with proceeds going to the Hibbing Arts Council to promote future Dylan Days events and concerts. Other Events Will Be Announced
From its humble origins as a spontaneous jam session, to its growth as part of the Hibbing Area Chamber of Commerce, to its current status as a fast growing, independent community arts organization, Dylan Days seeks to enhance the arts community in Northern Minnesota in addition to conducting these annual events. Dylan Days works with many community partners, including the schools, the city, the chamber of commerce and other artistic groups.We operate off the advertising revenue for our annual publication, "Talkin' Blues," the program and literary journal of Dylan Days.
